The Evidence is in....Or maybe not. We create what we want to see. We create evidence to support our beliefs. The thing is, we can find all the evidence we want to find about just about anything. We're not OK, we're not good enough...just look around, you'll find (create) all the evidence you need to validate that....if that's what you're focusing on. Now switch it: I'm OK, I'm more than good enough...just look around you, you'll find (create) all the evidence you need to validate that....if that's what you're focusing on.
Evidence-finding is our own attempt to make things real. Once again, it goes back to What do you want? Remember that what you focus on tends go get bigger. So, it's all out there - all the evidence is available to you. What do you want to make real about yourself and the world you live in? What are you focusing on today? I'm OK or I'm crap.
Lets talk
Clyde
Hey Clyde,
ReplyDeleteI have done a couple of dialogues with you and my major issue is I'm not good enough. I then bring to my attention all the evidence that proves this is so. In the competitive environment of work this has a self-destructive, victim element which creates discomfort and even fear. I can now see myself doing this and realise I can now choose to be good enough and find evidence for that. To say "I'm crap" seems safe and comfortable like a pair of old slippers but all it does is undermine myself in lots of ways. Thanks for this realisation, Clyde, and your skill and expertise as a mentor to help me see that if I believe "I'm okay," I will now start to find proof of that.
